And there was me, thinking I was the only one who watches F1 simply for the inevitable crash, and football for the amateur dramatics when they get "injured" (broken toe nail?)!

Hehe — hadn't thought of that. Of course they will! Does an Archbishop already have two plusses? Maybe they're not into the numbers game.

Hehe — but if I told you that, it would spoil the fun! All right, look near the front near the middle. It wasn't intentional!

Very true, very true! I was tempted to wade into some theology on this blog too, but I like to keep 'em snappy. The other point is of course that Jesus (in Matthew 24 et al.) was trying to make the opposite point about earthquakes and suchlike. He wasn't trying to describe the end times, but quite the opposite: he was describing some things that were not them - and of which, therefore, we should not be afraid. So there we go. There are bits in the Bible which do seem to describe the Rapture, though ("two men will be in a field; one will be taken and the other left", and so on) so I guess we must continue to debate what they actually mean...

Thanks for your compliment on my drawing! It took a couple of attempts. Eventually I Googled for a photo, held a piece of paper over the screen and did a certain amount of tracing. :)

Your drawing is coming on - I knew that was meant to be Rev. Camping, even without the tent.

There is plenty of room for theological comment on how such 'End Times' thinking is sadly heretical and tends to distance Christians from the continuing charge to play our part in the answer to the Lord's Prayer "Your Kingdom come... on earth as in heaven...". Rapture is escapism; Jesus isn't in the business of escaping hard things, but of changing them.
